Founded in 2012, Frieze Masters offers a unique and contemporary perspective on thousands of years of art history, encompassing everything from collectible objects to significant masterpieces of antiquity, and from the Old Masters to the final decades of the twentieth century. The 2026 edition of the fair will bring together more than 130 galleries from 26 different countries, including Artur Ramon Art, the only Spanish gallery taking part.
Artur Ramon Art returns to London in collaboration with Charles Beddington Ltd. for Frieze Masters 2026. This year’s presentation is conceived as a dialogue between periods, disciplines, and materials, reflecting our approach to collecting and dealing in works of art.
The antiquities section will centre around the discovery of a fifteenth-century Nottingham alabaster Head of Saint John the Baptist, presented alongside two gogotte formations dating back more than thirty million years. This group will be shown in dialogue with a seventeenth-century Italian painted marble and a selection of Old Master drawings, one of the gallery’s longstanding areas of expertise.
These works will be displayed alongside a carefully selected group of nineteenth- and twentieth-century paintings, including an oil on panel by Hermen Anglada-Camarasa and a beach scene by Joaquín Sorolla. They will be accompanied by a circus scene by Josep Maria Sert and a self-portrait by Francesc Gimeno, artists whose work reflects the richness and diversity of Catalan artistic modernity.
Beyond the individual significance of each work, the presentation emphasises the relationships that emerge between them. Bringing together objects from different centuries, geographies, and artistic traditions reflects an open and eclectic approach, one that seeks to create unexpected connections and invite fresh perspectives on the history of art.
