The exquisitely textured surface, with a white background, displays the silhouettes of each woman. Their poses, with a direct gaze toward the viewer, and the exposed terracotta—mimicking the visual and tactile qualities of bare skin—evoke classical prototypes. In particular, this composition appears to be inspired by the iconic Greco-Roman motif of The Three Graces, or in Ancient Greece, The Charites.
