- Produced in Manises between 1410 and 1440 in tin-glazed earthenware. The ornamentation consists of cobalt blue decoration on a white ground, combining the chestnut motif with dots and stylized parsley leaves. The piece reflects a transition period in Valencian workshops where abstract and epigraphic schemes of Hispano-Muslim heritage were replaced by more naturalistic and rhythmic plant forms. Technically, the work shares the decorative repertoire of contemporary lustreware productions, despite being executed exclusively in blue. This series is scarce within Manises production, with similar examples preserved in institutions such as the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Design Museum of Barcelona. Its form and functionality link it to specialized use in late Gothic pharmacies, where these vessels served for the storage of medicinal products.
