- This refined reliquary casket represents an exquisite example of private devotion and the culture of relics in late medieval Iberia. Objects of this kind were intended to safeguard the relics of saints or sacred objects, serving not only as protective containers but also as symbols of prestige and instruments of private worship. This example belongs to a well-documented decorative and typological tradition in Catalonia, where the fusion of international Gothic influences with local particularities gave rise to works of great elegance and understated refinement. Similar examples are known, with perhaps the most cohesive group preserved in the Episcopal Museum of Vic and the National Art Museum of Catalonia.
