Matter and Origin<\/em> is a journey through the work of the ceramicist Claudi Casanovas i Sarsanedas<\/strong>, from 2013 to the present. The artist\u2019s works will be accompanied by other pieces that complement the exhibition and encourage dialogue and reflection<\/strong>. For example, it will be possible to see the work of the ceramicist Josep Lloren\u00e7 i Artigas<\/strong> and the Noucentista sculptor Enric Casanovas<\/strong>. In addition to a 16th century altarpiece by Adriaen Isenbradt<\/strong>, sculptures by Manolo Hugu\u00e9<\/strong>, paintings by Joan Pon\u00e7<\/strong> and Antoni T\u00e0pies<\/strong>, and engravings by Henry Moore<\/strong> and Eduardo Chillida<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the words of M\u00f2nica Ramon<\/strong>, \u201cChance is a constant in the work of Claudi Casanovas<\/strong>; there are some heavy forms, with gravity, and with totally static shapes.\u201d Something visible in the pieces New Moon<\/em>, Pomonas<\/em>, The Quiet Ones<\/em>, Imaginary Garden<\/em> and Waxing Crescent”. The curator of the exhibition explains the meaning of its name: \u201cMatter refers to earth, fire, air and water, which are the four elements in the world of alchemy.
